It is a continuation of the previous volume: History of the Catholic Church in Gujarat by Carlos Suraia SJ which deals with the beginnings of the Gujarat Mission (1891-1934), and provides a backdrop of the Church’s institutional presence in Gujarat from 14th centrury on.

The Christian community that owes its origin to the New Testament vision of reality has no choice but to accept the full implications of understanding itself as an incarnated Church with an incarnated mission.
